  • Overview

    EGC is an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company whose growth strategy emphasizes acquisitions, enhanced by its value-added organic drilling program. The company's properties are located in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico waters and the Gulf Coast onshore. We are currently looking to fill the position of Reservoir Engineer in Houston, TX. This position will report to the Asset Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Asset Exploitation
      • Ensure all exploitation goals are achieved by proactively providing reservoir engineering support to geoscience, drilling, production, facilities, regulatory and land team members
      • Generate asset development plans by field and creatively seek ways to maximize asset value
      • Recommend drilling, recompletion, workover and facilities capital investments with technical and economic analysis that applies probabilistic EURs, risk modeling and pricing sensitivities
      • Generate PUD and prospective drilling inventory adds working closely with geoscientists
      • Actively screen well data to identify and add behind pipe inventory
      • Maintain behind pipe and undeveloped inventory with up to date timing, capital, rates, and EURs
      • Implement routine/regular PDP production surveillance and productivity analysis to identify workover candidates, working closely with production engineers
      • Continuously maintain and update Aries database attributes and forecasts
      • Provide all reservoir-related documentation requested by the Regulatory Department
      • Assist Exploration and Business Development/A&D initiatives as assigned
      • Manage special projects and other duties as assigned

     

    • Reserves & Planning
      • Forecast quarterly and year-end reserves estimates with supporting documentation and thorough explanations for major variances by completion
      • Generate EUR support for newly added inventory and post-drill reserves estimates
      • Collaborate with the Corporate Reserves department to ensure reserves compliance and reconcile reserve estimate variances with the reserves auditors
      • Vet and propose drilling, recompletion, workover and facilities investments for the annual budget

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required in Petroleum Engineering
    • Minimum 10-15 years of industry/applicable engineering experience
    • Minimum 5-10 years reservoir engineering experience
    • Gulf of Mexico experience required
    • Proficient in reservoir engineering and reserves software
    • Microsoft Office proficiency required
    • Proven ability to work independently
    • Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Solid interpersonal and communication skills

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • ARIESTM proficiency preferred
    • IHS Petra proficiency preferred
